Northern Cebu has the best white sand beaches, and one of my favorite is Bantayan Island. For all you beach bums out there, like us, if you want to just chill at the beach, enjoy the clear waters and get a tan, I suggest you visit this island. It was amazing! Stayed there for 3 days. 🙂
From Mactan, we took a cab going to the Cebu North terminal station. We rode an air conditioned bus going to Hagnaya port, travel time was 3 hours. Buses leave as early as 4:00 AM. Then at Hagnaya port, catch a ferry going to Santa Fe for an hour. Our resort was 5 minutes away from the port. The resort service shuttle picked us up at the port.
We stayed at Anika Island Resort. It’s a beach front resort that’s why we loved it! White powdery sand for the win! It was not cheap but the room, furnitures and the vibe was just perfect. 🙂

On our second day, we decided to go to Virgin Island. The resort helped us book a boat going there. It’s a 30 minute boat ride.
If you’re planning to stay there for the whole day, you can bring packed food or snacks. There’s also a store that sells snacks and drinks, although the drinks weren’t cold when we were there.
We spent the whole morning there. Before lunch, we went back and rented a motorbike to go to Santa Fe Beach Club.
That was our short trip to Bantayan Island, Cebu. Short but worth it! If you love diving, I heard that it’s also a good diving place. There’s also Sky diving in Santa Fe! We didn’t try though, because of lack of time. But we will be back there for sure. 🙂
