People ask me why I often travel and how I can afford it. Here are my answers:
WHY I TRAVEL?
I started traveling almost every month in 2013 when I was looking for a distraction away from my heartaches. Yes, traveling heals a broken heart. Believe me.πβ‘οΈβ€οΈ
It makes me genuinely happy!ππ
It’s my medicine when I get stressed at work or personal life.ππ‘
I’m not just having a vacation. I am traveling. It’s a journey, it’s to explore, it’s to wander in a strange place, it’s to understand other culture, it’s to get out of your comfort zone.βοΈπ΄π
I don’t like feeling bored. I always long for adventureππ»ββοΈβ΅οΈππβΊοΈ
Beach is my favorite place. I love beach bumming. I love swimming in clear waters. I love wearing swim suits. I love flowers. I love palm trees.πππΈ
Lastly, I want to help my fellow travelers get as much information as they can, especially with the best places to visit and tips on how they can travel on a budget. My first post was about my Southern Cebu adventure last October 2015. When I saw a lot of people commenting and asking questions about my travel, it triggered me to start blogging.ππ
HOW CAN I AFFORD IT?
I research. A lot of it! I read other blogs to know the culture, cheapest accommodation, best places to eat, activities, tourist spots and transportation going there.π©π»βπ»π₯π±
Seat sale – oh yes! I liked the Facebook pages and subscribed to all local airlines to save up since airfare can be expensive in some placesβοΈ
I join travel groups to save from the expenses, but sometimes I also enjoy a little luxury time with my family and loved ones.π«π¬
Am I rich? Definitely not. I make sure to travel on a budget, always. I am blessed to have a stable job that helps me pay my bills and responsibilities but still have extra to use for traveling. I don’t buy expensive clothes, shoes or gadgets. And I have a travel fund that I keep an eye on monthly.π°π³
Save. Save. Save. I started doing the 52 weeks money challenge in preparation of my 2018 major travels.π―π΅π°π·π²π»
You see, traveling is not only for rich people and it’s also not always cheap. Fact is, you need money to be able to travel. You just have to be wise in spending and that’s what I’ve learned through the years. Be a smart traveler. Happy travels!βΊοΈ
